It's been extremely quiet about StarCraft 2 after Blizzard decided to move the "Summer 2009" beta to an unknown point in the future (hopefully at least in 2010), but the people over at Blizzard seem to be doing something, as new lore as well as pictures have been released.

Personally I am excited for this, and extremely pumped to see the final copy of this game.

Activision Blizzard CEO Robert Kotick recently said that games produced by Activision will now be targeted to different means of entertainment. I.E. No more console games in the future produced by them.
Kotick says that the consoles only have a limited amount of power for future games. He also stated that the major console player usually give out a notice of an upcoming next gen console two years in advance; he has not gotten a paper yet, leading him looking in other methods of entertainment. For example, next Guitar Hero, for one, will have new social networking features provided by FaceBook.

Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick revealed that the next MMOG will not be a "World of Warcraft" nor "World of Starcraft".
In 2007, Blizzard announced they were working on a new project but not much was known about it other than it was going to be another MMOG style of game. Kotick suggested that the new game will be a brand new intellectual property that will be "more appealing" to the average gamer. He also suggested that Battle.Net features would be improved to the point where a key focus is around the player and e-sports. This allows for user profiles, contests, and tournaments.

According to Larry Hryb, an insider that was at a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare event, a new console bundle will be hitting the shelves by Christmas. This new bundle will be a limited edition Xbox 360 that has 250 GB for $399. Another similar package will be coming to South Africa and Germany that will include Forza 3, the highly anticipated racing game.
We'll see if this move can bump Microsoft back to the top after the drop in the PlayStation 3.
