Battlefield Heroes has left beta stage and is now publicly available. This is the first game published by EA that can be downloaded for free.

Will Wright, creator of one of the most popular game series The Sims, decides to leave EA. But fear not! All those times of playing Sim Ant will not be lost. He is going to focus on another independent project group. Wright has been an influence on so many game designers, and hopefully he will continue to keep making ground-breaking video games.

The popular gaming site Eurogamer gave The Godfather II a lowly 4 out of 10! They completely tear apart the game and rule out all the bad things they thought were in the game. It is really a shame to see a game with so much great potential get weeded out like this.

Oh well, guess this goes well with the crappy Sapranos ending.

EA has just anounced an expansion for Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 called:Red Alert 3: Uprising. It's called a "campaign expansion", and will add new campaigns to each faction. A campaign just for Yuriko and how she got her powers will be included. New units and maps will also be added on in this addition. According to Amer Ajami, Senior Producer at EA Los Angeles:

“We’re giving gamers more of what they want – more of the fast, fluid and fun gameplay, more of the story we began to tell in Red Alert 3 and more cutscenes featuring top-notch Hollywood talent. At the same time, we’re excited we’re going to be able to bring new things to the mix, including new units and the Commander’s Challenge, which is a great way for players to hone their skills and get deeper into the combat.”

New cut sences from Hollywood's top talent will also be returning. Although I'm skeptical on the addition of multiplayer gameplay bonuses, EA assures us that multiplayer will be changed. The screenshots below show how great this game looks already.

After Red Alert 3, we all hoped that we wouldn't see another SecuROM, but it seems now that will be the standard for EA's PC games.

As part of the uninstall process, the Rockstar Games Social Club application and the GTA IV game can both be removed. Shared software and plug-ins, such as Games for Windows Live, Adobe Flash and Direct-X may have to be deleted separately. In regards to SecuROM, deleting GTA IV will remove the active functions if it is the only application that requires SecuROM, but some traces will remain, such as a registry entry and file, which allows you to reinstall without re-entering your authentication code. We are working with SecuROM to post information on our support pages regarding how to remove these inactive traces of the program for users who wish to do so.

SecuROM attempts to prevent piraters from being able to play the game. The only problem is that if you bought it legally and you don't have internet or your computer cannot conect to the internet, you can't play! DRM does allow the player to run the game without a CD which is an added bonus.
