Color Blindness and Video Games

Color blindness is a type of vision deficiency. It is the inability to see the difference between certain colors. The condition was named Daltonism after John Dalton who researched it after realizing that he is color blind too.
There are multiple types of color blindness, the most common being red-green color deficiency (Deuteranopia).

People with normal color vision are fascinated with how I see the world. It's hard for them (I'm thinking of you, the one reading the article) to understand that some people perceive color differently.
I especially like questions like: "So can you see trough objects?" and "Do you see red as green and green as red?"
No, I can not see trough objects. You know that thing called light? It's not going to start going trough objects just because I'm color blind.
The answer to the second question is also no. If I were to see red as green and green as red I wouldn't be color blind. I could see the difference. They would just switch names.

The simulations below were simulated using Vischeck. All examples are for Deuteranopia. I wanted to show you how a color blind person might see some video games and some other stuff. Both images look the same to me.
Images on the left are originals and the ones on the right are color blindness simulations.

First let's look at a mix of different colors.

This is how a scene from Far Cry 2 would look like to me.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. The terrain is a bit different.

Others tell me that there is very little difference between the two but the crash looks great so I had to include it. The game is Race Driver: GRID
