Microsoft Puts $44.6 Billion Bid On Yahoo

In the past few days, Microsoft placed a bid of $44.6 Billion for the Internet company Yahoo. Microsoft is the largest software maker in the world and most computers run off of their systems. What does this mean, is Microsoft taking over the world?

Well... Not quite. In a market where Microsoft is no longer the only one running for the top, the corporates most think of news ways to spread the company out and to get more consumers. Xbox helped, but will buying Yahoo be worth it in the long run? It sure did help Google when it bought You Tube. Besides, now that Apple is gaining on sales, this could be a sign that Microsoft is getting nervous in the global market.

"We have great respect for Yahoo!, and together we can offer an increasingly exciting set of solutions for consumers, publishers and advertisers while becoming better positioned to compete in the online services market." -Steve Ballmer, chief executive officer of Microsoft.
